Typical LightBoss® Applications

Parking Lots

Outdoor parking lots can benefit from timer controlled light reduction programs during times of low activity. Lights can be activated with “dusk to dawn” sensors. Then, after normal working hours when employees have left, say, by 9:00 pm, light levels can be reduced for the remainder of the evening. This nighttime lower level can be quickly returned to full brightness with motion detectors for safety/security reasons if desired.

Parking Garages

Parking garages can achieve significant savings through photosensor controlled light reduction during daylight hours and further fixed level reduction during nighttime limited use hours. Again, rapid full brightness can be returned by motion detectors for safety /security reasons.

Warehouses and Factories

Warehouses are often kept at full illuminance 24 hours a day, when, in actuality, they are used only intermittently. If the occupancy times are predictable, the light level can be controlled by time clock. If the usage is sporadic, the light level can be controlled with motion detectors. Skylights can also add light during the day and lighting levels can be reduced with photo sensors in proportion to the amount of natural light contributed available.

Big Box Retail Stores

Many retail outlets have much more light than needed. Lighting engineers typically overengineer the lighting needed to account for lamp lumen depreciation over time.LightBoss® can be used to reduce the initial light output to an acceptable level, thengradually raise the voltage to the lamps as they begin to depreciate, thus keeping thelighting level constant. Skylights and photo sensors can be used to conserve energy aswell.

Many other applications...

Hangars, car dealer lots, gas stations, truck stops, sporting facilities, shipyards, and stockyards are all applications where energy savings can be significant.
