One area that is critically important is how well the lamp can change watts into lumens. HID lights are the most efficient lighting available today at turning electricity into light.

The chart below shows a range of lumens generated from each lighting source. For example, Metal Halide, High and Low Pressure Sodium lighting has a range from 5-10 times more lumens per watt of energy used compared to Incandescent lighting.


We know that individual HID lamps with up to 1000 watt capacity in one single lamp, are easier to replace since one lamp is much more easily replaced than a cluster of fluorescents.
