LightBoss® will allow for Significant Energy savings of up to 40%, without replacing Lamps, Ballast and most importantly, without interrupting your business

Sports Arenas are faced with escalating energy costs that are eroding profits. HID lighting is often a large part of the energy cost in these facilities. Typically the HID lamps are deployed over playing surfaces as well as in surrounding parking areas or decks.

Arenas typically support sporting events, concerts and shows. During sporting events, (games or practices) light levels might be reduced 15%-20%. This level will be imperceptible to users and will afford significant savings. Other activities (figure skating and public skating on rinks or business shows, etc on court surface) may not require the same lamp intensity so that further energy savings would be possible. Savings could be $5000.00 per year or more per playing surface. Facilities like these could be controlled by an energy management system and could regulate lamp levels based on scheduled activities, accessing any of the eight levels offered by the LightBoss® system. It should be noted, that in the skating rink environment, the reduced heat from lower lamp levels will have a positive impact on refrigeration costs as well.

Most Arenas have significant parking lot lighting as well. What follows is a typical parking lot scenario: Lamps and LightBoss® could be activated at dusk by daylight sensor. After warm-up, lamps would be reduced to 80% of brightness. After 10:00 PM, timer could signal LightBoss® and the lamps would be reduced to 60% of brightness, as lamps would now be just for security. Lamps at reduced brightness actually produce less glare for security cameras, making visual id easier. At 5:00 am timer could signal LightBoss® to bring lamps back to 80%. At dawn, the daylight sensors would signal LightBoss® and lamps to shut off.

We will be happy to assist you in completing a simple survey that can be used to generate an estimate of your potential savings.
